Emma Pivato

Emma Pivato has published six murder mystery novels beginning with Blind Sight Solution in 2013. Her novel, Murder on Highway 2 was a bestseller in Alberta in 2016. Each novel involves the participation of a person with disabilities who helps the main character, Claire Burke, solve the crime. The books are available in bookstores or through Amazon.

Emma was born in Elk Point Alberta and grew up there and in Calgary. She earned a B.A. in psychology, an M.A. in philosophy and a Ph.D. in psychology all from the University of Alberta. In her careers she worked as a school psychologist in Edmonton and Toronto, a clinical psychologist in a mental hospital, an advocate for persons with disabilities, a marriage and family psychologist in Catholic Social Services and for ten years taught graduate psychology courses at Athabasca University. Emma lives in Edmonton with her husband Joe and their daughter, Alexis who has sever disabilities and inspired some of her novels.
